Long Island has a new hedge fund, based in Bohemia.
It’s called the Genius Hedge Fund, led by three partners who met through their interest in a board game.
“Our leaders developed their friendships through ardent games of chess; this challenged their mental capacities and required the highest levels of mathematical strategy and analysis,†the partners say on their website.
“Mastering the skills necessary to succeed in chess stimulates us and is integral to the principals of our company.â€
The three are Alex Rabinovich, Victor Plotkin and A.J. Caro, seen above with a few chess sets.
“Each partner brings his own specialization to the company. Victor has 20 years of experience as a money manager, Alex offers expertise in management and investing, and A.J.’s business prowess and entrepreneurial spirit are unparalleled.â€
Among the services Genius says it offers:Â
— Provides “clear and objective advice resulting in long-term returns for your portfolio that minimizes your exposure to riskâ€
— Manages and monitors investments
— Investment performance reports
— Reports portfolio activity and holdings
— Ensures “frequent communication to keep you abreast of your investmentsâ€
— Provides direct access to portfolio manager
— Annual reviews and, where needed, revisions of investment policy
