The International district 3131 FIDE rating all India Open ChessTournament which is being jointly organised by Pune District ChessAssociation and Rotary Club Pune University will commence at the PYC Gymkhana, Bhandarkar Road from Monday.

As many as three Grand Masters (R.R.Laxman, Dipen Chakravarti,Neelotpal Das) and 15 International MastersM.R.Vemkatesh,K.Rathnakaran,Praveen Kumar, M.J.Thej Kumar, D.P.Singh,

Himanshu Sharma,Saptarshi Roy, Arun Vaidya,Vishnu Prasanna, Swapnil Dhopade, Vikramaditya Kamble, Rahul Shettym Shalmali Gagre(WIM),Swati Ghate(WGM), Shyam Sundar, Somak Palit, Chandrashekhar Gokhale have confirmed their entries.

Over 200 players from West Bengal, Chennai, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Andhra,Kerala,Gujarat,Goa,Orissa,Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will participate in the tournament and more than 120 players are FIDE-rated players, said a press release.

FIDE rated players from Pune participating in this tournament are Sohan Phadake, Aniruddha Deshpande, Abhishek Kelkar, Gaurav Konde, Anuprita Patil, shailesh Jaiswar, Chandrakant Dongre, Kapil Lohana,

Abhimanyu Puranik, Kaushik Bhave, Kishor Vaze (Bank of Maharashtra),Dajikaka Gadgil and Rotary

Club District Governor Shri. Pramod Jejurikar will remain present in at the inauguration ceremony of this tournament and grace the occasion.

The inaugural ceremony will be held around 11 am at PYC Hindu Gymkhana Hall.
