The championship sponsored by Chess Association of India (CAI) would witness over 2500 players, but no Grand Masters (GM) or International Masters (IM) would be seen in action.
The winners of the tourney would receive a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs, while the players on 96th to 115th positions would receive Rs 5000.
Addressing a press conference here today, CAI general secretary S K Tiwari said only those players would be eligible to participate in this tournament, who have participated in at least three championships organized by CAI.
Players would be required to pay Rs 1000 as entry fee for the tourney, but they will be provided free accomodation.
The last date of sending entry in the championship is tomorrow while entry will be accepted upto December 18 with a late fee of Rs 300 per player.
